Teacher Only Day - Tuesday 26 October

This is the day after Labour Weekend Monday. School will be closed for students to allow the staff to work on the NZ Curriculum and National Standards.

We are a decile 7 Year 1 – 6 primary school nestled in the heart of the Gisborne suburb of Whataupoko. Being the school of choice for many, our roll traditionally builds to 360 each year. We are currently undergoing steady growth and will close 2010 with 390+ students - still a comfortable number.

Our school community prides itself on the challenging and varied learning opportunities that exist for the students of Central School. Students experience quality opportunities across the entire curriculum; culturally, in the arts and also the sporting arena. Standards are unashamedly high, as we want the best for our students! Central is a school where students can learn without disruption.

The dedicated staff, Board of Trustees, Parent Support Group, Komiti Awhina/Community Support Team, along with our fantastic students and wider community, make Central School a great place to be.

We welcome enrolments from all students, irrespective of home location. Being in the enrolment zone of another school does not mean your child needs to attend that school, nor does it preclude your child from attending Central.
